CSE researchers have developed Protean Code, a breakthrough technology that enables data centers to dynamically recompile applications in response to computing environment changes with virtually no cost to do so.

Lots of Demos and New CS Majors

750+ non-CS students who took EECS 183, taught by Dr. Mary Lou Dorf and Dr. Jeremy Gibson, showed their projects in a 6-hour long, first of its kind rolling showcase. Some in the class found the inspiration to declare a major in CS.

Computer Games Showcased

Students in EECS 494, Game Design and Development, taught by Dr. Jeremy Gibson, showed off their final projects on Dec. 12. This year, most games were multiplayer or networked, and one featured use of the Oculus Rift.

Off to the World Finals!

U-M student programming team "The Victors" has placed in regional competition and will advance to the ACM-ICPC World Finals in Marrakech, Morocco. It is the 4th time in 5 years that a U-M team, led by Prof. Compton, has done so.

Lynn Conway Honored by IEEE

Prof. Emerita Lynn Conway Will be honored with the IEEE/RSE Wolfson James Clerk Maxwell Award "for contributions to and leadership in design methodology and pedagogy enabling rapid advances and dissemination of VLSI design tools and systems."
